Scarlet Robins (Petroica boodang) are little songbirds that thrive in eucalypt woodlands where shrubs, woody debris and native grasses are present. Sadly, these ecological communities are in decline due to habitat loss, fragmentation and disturbance.

Scarlet Robin, singing the blues, is made by drawing freehand with needle and thread. The embroidered female Scarlet Robin sits atop LOOK a common road sign providing a precautionary warning. The exotic flower fabric stands in for changed land practices and industrialised society.
